Synopsis
Philippe Falardeau paints a unique, rigorous and sensitive portrait of the railway disaster which tore 47 innocent victims from the community of Lac-Mégantic and incinerated the heart of its downtown. The director clearly demonstrates that it was not an unfortunate accident. Through the words of actors in the field and touching testimonies, some of which are previously unpublished, Philippe Falardeau retraces the route of a time bomb and tells how, ten years later, the citizens of Lac-Mégantic did not finished suffering the repercussions. The series lifts the veil on the impunity of the railway companies and the laissez-faire nature of the federal government. It shows that despite the deaths, nothing has really changed. Trains that transport oil continue to run unchecked, threatening our city centers on a daily basis.
